Our World Is International

At their peak the International Harvester Company was reputed to be the largest and most influential farm equipment manufacturer of the 20th century. These promotional and information films make up the fourth in a series of DVD programmes featuring agricultural machinery manufactured by International Harvester - a reminder of their heyday in which all things seemed possible.

This volume is rather special as we have several films demonstrating the benefits of the revolutionary and innovative IH Hydrostatic Drive Transmission. Hydrostatic Drive first appeared in Britain on the 74 Series as an alternative to the standard synchro transmission and the following 84 Series had a dedicated model - the Hydro 84. This very clever invention eliminated the need for gears and found a way to adjust ground speed, on the go, without a clutch, a throttle or any change of gear. We also look at the brand new 66 series of tractors.

Certainly International Harvester was a force to be reckoned with in the middle part of the 20th century and these old movies go a long way to capturing a flavour of that success.
